TERRI LEE BRUNNER

Terri Lee (Winson) Brunner, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, educator, and passionate advocate for agriculture and education, passed away on January 12, 2026 at the King’s Daughters Home in Mexico, Missouri surrounded by family and friends. Born in Sweet Springs, Missouri, on November 29, 1958, she was the daughter of Virgil and Margaret (Yarnell) Winson. Terri’s love for agriculture began at a young age. She was actively involved in 4-H and FFA and was especially passionate about cattle. She loved showing cattle and exhibited many champions at both the county and state fair levels.

After graduating from the University of Missouri, Terri embarked on a career in education. She began teaching at Harrisburg R-VIII School District and later retired as the High School Librarian at Centralia R-VI School District. In her role as a librarian, Terri transformed her libraries into creative spaces that inspired students to discover their love of reading. Her dedication to education and advocacy for students’ access to books left a lasting impact on many. Beyond her work in education, Terri was a passionate collector of Madame Alexander dolls, a hobby she shared with her mother, Margaret, who founded the Madame Alexander Doll Club. Terri cherished her involvement in the club and her connections with others who shared her enthusiasm for these treasured dolls.

After retirement, Terri and her husband, Dennis, enjoyed traveling in their RV, creating memories on the road. She also loved spoiling her beloved grandkids, Cecilia, Marshall, Bailey, and Buckley. Terri had a remarkable gift for making people laugh and lightening the mood, often offering a witty comment or humorous observation. Her warmth and humor left a lasting impression on all who knew her, and she never met a stranger.

Terri is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Dennis Brunner; two daughters, Shari Bigler (Quade Bigler) and Maggie Middleton (Kyle Middleton); and four grandchildren, Cecilia Bigler, Marshall Bigler, Bailey Middleton, and Buckley Middleton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Margaret Winson. Terri’s legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, students, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Private interment will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Centralia Public Library, c/o Oliver Funeral Home, P.O. Box 125, Centralia, MO 65240. Condolences may also be made to the family at www.oliverfuneralhome.net
