SHIRLEY L. FRIEDLI Shirley L. Friedli, 85, Centralia, MO passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO. She was born December 13, 1936 in Sturgeon, MO the daughter of the late James and Thelma (Riley) Reams. On November 17, 1957 she was united in marriage to Dean Edward Friedli, who preceded her in death on May 16, 2020. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons Ed Friedli and his wife Mary Ann of Centralia, MO and Tyler Friedli and his wife Amber of Centralia, MO; one daughter Kay Strouse and her husband Thomas of Sedalia, MO; one sister Phyllis Oppliger of Chesterfield, MO; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, one brother Harold Reams preceded her in death. Shirley was a proud graduate of Centralia High School in 1955 and was past-president of the Centralia Alumni Association. She first worked as a secretary at the First Baptist Church in Centralia where she would later serve in many capacities, including Sunday School teacher, VBS Director and youth director. She helped her husband Dean on the family farm, and in later years she cleaned houses in the Centralia area. She spent her life singing and sharing the gospel through her love of music. She was a member of Strother Neighbors Club, P.E.O. and was a volunteer for the Centralia Historical Society and gave tours at the museum. Shirley was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Centralia. In later years, she joined Bethlehem Baptist Church and continued serving there. She was always available for any speaking engagements, whether it be for Kiwanis, Rotary or other organizations and she loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, December 20, 2021 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church near Centralia, MO. Interment will be in Bethlehem Church Cemetery near Centralia, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Baptist Church, c/o Oliver Funeral Home, P.O. Box 125, Centralia, MO 65240.
