MARY DELL YOUNG

Mary Dell Young, 93, passed away on June 1, 2025. She was born on January 14, 1932, in Centralia, Missouri, the daughter of the late Letha and Leslie Reynolds. On November 12, 1950, she married her classmate of 12 years, the late Don Young. Don and Mary Dell celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2010.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children: Belinda Engemann (Paul) of Hermann, Missouri, Beth Pollard (Jack) of Leesburg, Virginia, and Becky Young (Sherry) of St Louis, Missouri. She will also be remembered by four grandchildren: Ryan Engemann (Lindsey) of Hermann, Missouri, Leslie Duvall (Clark) of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, Derek Engemann (Melissa) of San Diego, California, and Michael Pollard (Sara) of Gainesville, Virginia. Her five great grandchildren include Grace, Jackson and Andy Engemann of Hermann, Missouri, and Dillon and Emma Duvall of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, her parents, Letha and Leslie Reynolds, and one brother, W. L. Reynolds.

Mary Dell graduated from Centralia High School in 1949. She worked for the school system for a few years and then worked for 30 years in the Credit Department of A. B. Chance Company. She was a member of the Centralia First Christian Church and was baptized at the same time as Don when they were 10 years old. She served as a deaconess and then an elder for several years. She was also an active member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship of the church.

Mary Dell loved spending time with friends and family. She liked to play bridge, dominoes, bingo and many other card games. She enjoyed reading and enjoyed working and playing on her computer. Mary Dell was an avid fan of Centralia and Mizzou sports, especially men’s and women’s basketball.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO. Interment will be in the Centralia City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO.
