LINDA JOYCE KEMNER
Linda Joyce Kemner, 81, Sturgeon, MO passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the Heritage Hall Nursing Center in Centralia, MO. She was born October 3, 1944, in Marshall, MO, the daughter of the late Harold and Euna (Steinke) O’Dell. On June 7, 1970, she was united in marriage to William “Bill” Kemner.
In addition to her husband Bill of 56 years, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one daughter Julie Gordon and her husband John of Columbia, MO; one son Greg Kemner of St. Peters, MO; one brother John O’Dell of Marshall, MO; one grandson Dylan Gordon; other relatives and many dear friends.
Joyce first worked as a teacher for the Osceola, Mendon and Centralia School District for several years. Later she worked for Kinkead Pharmacy in Centralia MO and finally on the family farm with her husband Bill. She played intramural basketball at the University of Missouri and was a big promoter for fundraising for Sturgeon, MO. She served as President of the Sturgeon Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Boone County Historical Society.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, July 6, 2026, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Sturgeon, MO. Interment will be in Mt. Horeb Cemetery near Sturgeon, MO. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time on Monday, July 6, 2026, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Sturgeon, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Horeb Cemetery Fund, c/o Oliver Funeral Home, P.O. Box 125, Centralia, MO 65240. Condolences may also be made to the family at www.oliverfuneralhome.net
