LAWRENCE L. “LARRY” DAVENPORT
Lawrence L. “Larry” Davenport, 81, Mexico, MO passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the University of Missouri Hospital & Clinics in Columbia, MO. He was born October 27, 1944, in Mexico, MO the son of the late Clarence and Rosa Lee (Beasley) Davenport. On April 27, 1995, he was united in marriage to Wanda Sue Myers Davenport.
In addition to his wife Wanda of 31 years, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three children Jeff Davenport and his wife Tracy of Mineola, MO, Lori Weible and her husband Tom of Columbia, MO and Megan Davenport of St. Joseph, MO; his step son Eric Myers of Columbia, MO; four grandchildren Josh Davenport, Madison Davenport, Tori Weibel and Hannah Davenport; six great grandchildren; two brother and sisters in law Lester Myers and his wife Doris of Centralia, MO and Jack Myers and his wife Carol of Centralia, MO; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, two brothers Richard Davenport and Fred Davenport; his sister Lois Davenport; his first wife Charlene Davenport; and his grandson Jacob Davenport preceded him in death.
Larry first worked as a Draftsman for A.B. Chance Co in Centralia, MO, later for A.P. Green in Mexico, MO and finally in construction for the highway department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, garden tractor pulling and spending time with all of his grandchildren.
