JOYCE RAE MILLER

Joyce Rae Miller, 95, Columbia, MO passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2026, at the University of Missouri Hospital & Clinics in Columbia, MO. She was born March 19, 1931, in Hallsville, MO, the daughter of the late William and Alpha Pearl (Forbes) Miller. On March 7, 1948, she was united in marriage to Vessie Miller who preceded her in death on July 14, 2003.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son Daniel Miller and his wife Monique of Columbia, MO; three daughters Donna Miller of Columbia, MO, Terri Miller of Centralia, MO and Louanne Miller of Mexico, MO; one sister Martha Forsee of Columbia, MO; eleven grandchildren Frank, Eric, Betsy, Candi, Levi, Jeremy, Alison, Abby, Brady, Adam and Rachel; twenty-eight great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, two brothers, three sisters, three grandchildren Ryan Miller, Melissa Nowlin and Dorian Petty preceded her in death.

Joyce first worked as a homemaker, later at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO and finally she owned and operated the Sportsman’s Cove in Homosassa, FL. She played basketball in High School and was a member of the Salt River Christian Church where her and her husband Vessie made many contributions throughout their lives and she played the piano. She was also very active in the Possum walker’s 4-H Club and the Mexico VFW. Joyce had a big heart and one of the most precious things to her heart was her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO. Interment will be in the Salt River Christian Church Cemetery near Mexico, MO. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until service time on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO.
