JOSEPH PAUL “JOE” GRIGGS

Joseph Paul “Joe” Griggs, 69, Centralia, MO passed away Monday, May 19, 2026, at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO. He was born November 20, 1956, in Chester County, PA, the son of the late Paul and Alma (Fischer) Griggs. On March 24, 1984, he was united in marriage to Linda (Warrenski) Griggs after they met working with each other in New York.

In addition to his wife Linda of 42 years, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter Melissa Baker and her husband James of Gilbert, AZ; one sister Veronica Pollock and her husband Eddie of Sturgeon, MO; three grandchildren Jocelyn, Kaden and Luke; his sister in law Linda Faye Griggs of Centralia, MO; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, his brother James Griggs and his nephew Adam Griggs preceded him in death.

Joe first had a handyman service in New York and later in Missouri. Then he worked for J.C. Pennys in Columbia, MO and finally retired from Hubbel Power Systems in Centralia, MO. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed cooking, grilling, classic car restoration, woodworking, fishing, hunting, target shooting, rock n roll, Clint Eastwood movies and Stephen King novels. Joe loved his pets, especially his dogs and was always willing to help his family and friends.

A celebration of life will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Missouri Humane Society or to the American Cancer Society, c/o Oliver Funeral Home, P.O. Box 125, Centralia, MO 65240.
